A little bit O’ Grunge

IMG_4416 copy

Salaam everyone! Im back today with a dark and edgy look. Don’t get me wrong, I  love color. I love bright colors especially. Summer and Spring are my favorite season because I get to experiment with brighter and bolder colors. However, when it comes to fall and winter, I need to tone it down a bit. Recently Ive been loving the black and white combo. Im not sure if Im ready for an all-black look, but adding darker colors light red or blue to my muted attire is perfect for me.

I wore a plain black top over this red summer maxi dress. This is one of the things that I absolutely love about maxi dresses. They are so versatile that I can dress them up or down for any season. The dress also gives off a grunge feel because of the dark colors and mixed patterns. Ive also fallen in love with wearing white hijabs. I use to hate wearing white hijab’s because I thought the color white would look terrible on my skin tone but it actually gives me a sun kissed look and Im perfectly happy with that.

I accessorized with my favorite statement necklace and a stack of rings. I also wore my platform boots to give me height and add to this grunge look. I actually took inspiration from 90’s grunge when putting this outfit together. Anything from the 90s will always have a special place in my heart.
