Mauvy Mood

Salaam everyone! Monochrome fashion has been around for a while but sometimes its really hard to pull off when your choosing a color other than black and white. I decided to choose my favorite fall color and create a monochrome look. To pull off the monochromatic look, wear separate textures and shades of one color. Not only will you look chic but you will also create a bold statement look that is eye-catching and interesting.

Layer up the look with a structured blazer. I wore a pale pink sweater over my patterned dress which made me look a little frumpy. To fix this dilemma, I wore a dark blazer which gave me a clean silhouette as well as dimension because the light sweater highlights your outfit while the structured blazer gives you a clean and polished look.IMG_7268-1.JPGIMG_7270

Play with different textures when it comes to monochrome. I paired some leather leggings with my ruffled dress and a knit sweater with a structured blazer. I wore a nude scarf but keep in mind, if your going to wear the same color on top the same color, break it up with a necklace or a collar. Its easy to incorporate one color into your whole look. Just keep in mind to have different shades of the same color and play around with different textures. Try fur or on top of silk or Tweed on top of leather. Possibilities are endless.
